Yes! We accept physical Visa and Mastercard debit cards with Chip & PIN at our Malta airport counter when you select our Debit Card / Premium Damage Waiver (PDW) cover package at checkout.
When you choose the Debit Card Package, a reduced security deposit (typically between €250 and €400 depending on vehicle group) is temporarily pre-authorized on your debit card. The funds are held, not debited, and released automatically after the car is returned undamaged with a full tank of fuel.
No. With the Debit Card Package active, no credit card is required. You can formalize your rental agreement and guarantee your security deposit entirely using your physical debit card.
Accepted: Physical Visa and Mastercard debit cards with Chip & PIN registered in the lead driver’s name. Excluded: Maestro cards (only accepted for rental fee payment, not deposit), American Express (Amex), virtual cards on phone screens without physical card, prepaid reloadable cards, and cash deposits.
If the main driver does not possess an eligible debit card, a third-party cardholder can provide the card, provided that cardholder is physically present at the counter and registered as an additional driver on the contract.
You pay only a 10% booking confirmation fee online to lock in your car and prevent bot bookings. The remaining rental balance and the refundable deposit are processed when you collect the keys in Malta.
